Hello! I'm an award-winning children's author and illustrator, living and working in Edinburgh. I'm best known for my picture books and adventure stories, but have also produced cartoons and comic strips for numerous magazines and newspapers.
I run workshops in schools, libraries and festivals all over the UK (and occasionally further afield!) encouraging children of all ages to draw, write and explore their creativity.
I enjoy collaborative projects as well as my solo ones, and I've worked with various UK publishers on both. Much of my most successful work has come from serendipitous conversations with editors and art directors, and I'm always open to ideas for new projects and commissions!

MY NEW PICTURE BOOK

The Day of the Daring Rescues will be published in the UK in January 2027 (and in Germany in Autumn 2026). It's a brand new thrilling and funny adventure for Louis and his big sister Sarah – first seen in The Day Louis Got Eaten. This time, the intrepid siblings find themselves having to rescue three lost little creatures from the snowy wastes before the hungry predators lurking there can catch up with them!
I really enjoyed working on this book, coming up with its variety of icy locations, dangerous wildlife, hair-raising chases, perilous escapes and sledge-based pedal-powered inventions.

MY CHILDREN'S BOOKS
To date, I have written four picture books, which can be enjoyed by anyone from 3 and upwards, and three adventure novels, which are ideal for 8-12 year olds to read by themselves – although I know many parents enjoy reading them aloud to younger children. All of my stories are full of adventure, excitement and fun! You'll find intrepid explorers, extraordinary creatures, courageous rescues, remarkable inventions, diabolical villains, and lots of brave and resourceful children.

My books are published all over the world and it's lovely to imagine readers in other countries enjoying them.
You see here editions of my books in German, Spanish, Chinese, Italian, Dutch, Serbo-Croat, Japanese and Afrikaans. I love seeing all the different translations of the books' titles! For example, Manfred the Baddie becomes Manfred el Maloso in Spanish, which perhaps sounds even badder!
